House of Bread New Orleans in River Ridge
House of Bread
9643A Jefferson Highway
River Ridge, LA 70123

The House of Bread in River Ridge, LA is an amazing place. Upon entering the store, you are greeted with some of the most heavenly aromas known to man. The scents of freshly baked breads, rolls, scones and cookies fill the air.
What is really amazing is that they make all their breads from scratch. They start with organic grains that they mill into fresh natural flour.

What is just as amazing about the House of Bread, is their selection of daily breads. Everyday the staff makes a selection of their special breads like Garden Herb, Potato Rosemary, Foccacia, and Tomato Basil to name a few. There are plenty of fresh breads on the wood tables in the store.
Every day has it's own bread menu.
Did I mention that the store is warm and inviting. The people are very friendly and even more knowledgeable about their art form.
Glenn Culp, part owner of House of Bread - New Orleans, took his time explaining the different breads that were today and the breads to made over the next few days. He was truly excited about the certain flavors and recipes that they make. He definitely has be interested in the Potato Rosemary bread.

Glen explained that several field trips a year come to his store to help kids understand the process of making bread. They start by helping the kids make flour from scratch. Then each child gets his own loaf to make how they see fit. The loaves are baked and at the end of the day, the kid can pick up his or her very own bread. I just want to tell Glenn that touring his store has to be an awesome experience for children.
.
House of Bread not only wins on the neat and interesting front, it wins hands down on bread. After leaving the store, I went in search of sandwich fixings. Using House of Bread's Grandma's White Bread, I made one of the best ham and swiss sandwiches of my life.
