Boats and Boathouses Destroyed in New Orleans after Katrina
New Orleans Municipal Yacht Harbor took quite a blow from Hurricane Katrina. Hurricane Katrina washed boats across the entire landscape of the West End area of New Orleans. Many, if not all, of the boat house in the New Orleans area were destroyed. Four months after the storm dozens of boats still litter the streets and yards. Boats are strewn across the park as far as 1000 feet from the water of Lake Pontchartrain.
New Orleans will have many years of cleaning up before the rebuilding process can really get going at one hundred percent.
