Video of Lower 9th Ward in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina

This video was shot in the lower 9th ward in New Orleans. This video was shot on January 21 2006.

We decided to turn off the audio on the video and let the video speak for itself. it is quite depressing. These peoples lives and homes have been shattered.

If you look closely in the video you will see black mud covering everything. It is slippery and probably contaminated.

This area is completely dead. A few patrolling police cars and drivers heading to the sewerage plant. There are still houses and buildings in the middle of streets and power poles are still draped across many roads.

I think it is questionable if this area will be rebuilt. Very little progress was evident. I may be wrong, but other areas have more signs of life, even Waveland, MS, which was wiped off of the map.

To the people of the 9th Ward in New Orleans. God Bless and Good Luck, we were saddened to see your neighborhood in such shambles.
