"Behind The Curtain"

With NOCCA|Riverfront Theatre Arts

New Orleans Center for Creative Arts|Riverfront (NOCCA|Riverfront) invites students who are interested in drama, musical theatre or theatre design to a very special behind-the-scenes look at a current theatre arts production. On Saturday • April 8, interested students (grades 8-11th) are invited to Behind The Curtain With NOCCA|Riverfront Theatre Arts–an experience which includes a backstage tour of The Jungle Book at the Rivertown Repertory Theatre.

The special guests begin their journey with theatre design students and faculty for a guided visit backstage. The students will learn about the important role set and costume design have in a production. Students will then be invited to enjoy The Jungle Book, a musical theatre student production, as they receive a complementary ticket for admission. Following the close of the final curtain, the group participates in a coordinated "meet & greet" with NOCCA|Riverfront musical theatre student performers and theatre arts faculty.

Students who would like to participate are required to RSVP for the event by emailing bhammell@nocca.com or calling 504.940.2854. Space is limited for this event–students are encourage to RSVP as soon as possible.

NOCCA|Riverfront offers various forms of art instruction to high school students who earn credit for coursework. Tuition is free and classes are open to all Louisiana high school students who successfully audition. Interested students should visit www.nocca.com for more information and to download an application for admission.
