Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late! is the latest installment in Mr. Willems’ much loved Pigeon adventures. It's getting dark out, but one stubborn Pigeon is NOT going to bed! This charming, interactive bedtime romp puts readers back in the driver's seat, deflecting Pigeon's sly trickery as he tries to escape his inevitable bedtime.

A popular cartoonist and successful writer for children’s television, Mr. Willems first turned his talents to children’s picture books in 2003 with Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! Critics and children alike embraced this smart, funny book, which won the prestigious 2004 Caldecott Honor and became a New York Times bestseller. This spectacular debut prompted the Times to call him "the biggest new talent to emerge thus far in the 00's".

Mr. Willems other books include Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale (2005 Caldecott Honor); Leonardo, the Terrible Monster (2006 ALA Notable Children’s Book); Time to Say Please (Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Award winner); and The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog! (Publishers Weekly Editors’ Pick).

He is a six-time Emmy Award–winning writer and former animator for Sesame Street, the creator of Cartoon Network’s Sheep in the Big City and the former head-writer for Codename: Kids Next Door. Mr. Willems’ animated films have been screened at festivals around the world and his drawings have been exhibited at the Museum of Radio and Television and at the Library of Congress. He lives with his family in Brooklyn, New York.
