SEE WITCHES AND EMPRESSES LIVE ON STAGE, FROM THEATRE LOUISIANE!

Theatre Louisiane of New Orleans will present dis+graced on March 10-12, 17-19, & 24-26, 2006. dis+graced is a visually stunning one-woman performance about women who have been rejected by powerful men. All shows are at 8:00 pm, at Zeitgeist Arts Center, 1724 O.C. Haley Boulevard. Tickets are $10, and seating is limited. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. For more info on the show, visit www.theatrelouisiane.com.

dis+graced was adapted for the stage and directed by Theatre Louisiane Artistic Director, AMY WOODRUFF. The performance uses the monologues of Euripides’ Medea and the letters of Josephine Bonaparte, along with live theatre and multimedia video projection. WOODRUFF will perform the piece, and she created the video projection by collaborating with talented emerging video artist CHRISPIN BARNES. The piece also features video appearances by GABRIELLE REISMAN, JOHN TILIAKOS, and ERIC ILLARMO.

WOODRUFF, a tenth generation Louisianian, is a theatre artist specializing in actor-created performance, and she is the recipient of numerous artist grants and prizes. She has been invited to do six performances of dis+graced at the Montreal Fringe Theatre Festival (www.montrealfringe.ca) in June 2006.
