"Was There Really a House in New Orleans They Called the 'Rising Sun'?" April 6th by Ryan Grey

On Wednesday April 6 at 7:30 pm, the Classical Studies program at Loyola University is presenting a letcure by Ryan Grey from Earth Search Inc. The lecture is entitled "From Ruin to Respectability in Urban New Orleans: Recent Archaeology in the French Quarter and Warehouse District" (or what I am affectionately entitling -- "Was There Really a House in New Orleans They Called the 'Rising Sun'?"

This lecture will be held in the Nunemaker Auditorium which is located
in Monroe Hall on Loyola's campus. If you are unfamiliar with our campus,
you can find Monroe Hall on the following link. Nunemaker is reached
by elevator to either the second or third floor of Monroe.

This lecture is free to the public and there will be free parking on campus.

Please mark your calendars and plan to attend.

You may wonder why a lecture about archaeology. New Orleans'
archaeological heritage is just as threatened by new development
and demolition as its historical sites still visible above ground.

For more information, please contact me by e-mail or by phone. I can
be reached at my office at the university at 865-2287.

Thanks,
Connie Rodriguez
