Skyfire Productions Creative Arts at Skyfire Theatre (CAST)

presents its Spring Showcase

April 29 & 30, 2006 at 2 PM

Creative Arts at Skyfire Theatre (CAST) is a program offered by Skyfire Productions, a non-profit organization that provides acting experiences for and with local young people. CAST offers instruction in the fundamentals of acting to actors ages 8 - 16 and provides them the opportunity to practice those skills by performing. The classes began in January and have focused on all aspects of theatrics, including character development, vocal projection, stage presence, diction and enunciation, technical elements, improvisation and stage movement.

The performances on April 29 & 30 include three one-act plays. Witches, Britches, Rings and Things tells folk tales like "Three Sillies" and "Three Billy Goats Gruff." A second play is Dora and the Pheelguds, a futuristic piece about self-esteem. The third show is Seuss's Life Lessons, the Musical which is about differences in people and friendship. Rounding out the Spring Showcase will be vocal students presenting songs they have learned this semester.

Ticket prices are $5.00 for 12 and older, $3.00 for 6 to 12 year-olds and free for those under 6 years old and are available at the door beginning at 1 PM on April 29 & 30, 2006.
