New Orleans Cajun Fried Turkey

In New Orleans and all of south Louisiana we love fried food. Why leave turkey out of the mix. Take a good crawfish pot and there you have a turkey fryer. While there are much better options available today, this is how frying turkeys in Louisiana Backyards got started. Many people prefer their New Orleans Cajun Fired Turkey to be cooked in Peanut Oil. This Oil can handle the higher temperatures needed to fry turkeys.

THIS CAN BE A VERY DANGEROUS COOKING EXPERIENCE!

NEVER FRY A TURKEY IN OR NEAR A HOUSE. THIS IS A HUGE FIRE HAZARD!

HOT OIL CAN ALSO SPLASH UP AND CAUSE SEVERE BURNS. THIS HAPPENS OFTEN WHEN PUTTING THE TURKEY INTO THE OIL. LOWER TURKEY VERY SLOWLY INTO THE OIL.

HAVE NESSECARY GREASE FIRE FIGHTING TOOLS AVAILABLE AS WELL. BE VERY PREPARED WHEN FRYING TURKEYS OR DON’T DO IT!

New Orleans Cajun Fried Turkey is good but it is not worth getting you or your friends and family hurt over! SO BE SAFE OR GO BAKE A TURKEY!
