Mardi Gras 2006 May Have Snags
Mardi Gras 2006 seems to be moving forward. They are expecting a small Mardi Gras with smaller parades and limited routes. This may not be sitting well with all of the Krewes out there. In the next few weeks, we will find out what Krewes will be riding this year.
The City of New Orleans wants to roll ahead with Mardi Gras for 6 days and limit the amount of overtime police forces necessary. New Orleans is concerned about this due to extreme budget constraints left in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
Many locals have the expressed an excitement for a smaller Mardi Gras. They are hoping it will be more like a Mardi Gras from our past. Only Time will tell how Mardi Gras 2006 will turn out.
