"BAREFOOT IN THE PARK" May 2006 at Playmakers

“BAREFOOT IN THE PARK”

A romantic comedy by Neil Simon

Directed by Anne Pourciau

May 5, 6, 12, 13, 14*, 19, 20 21

Corrie and Paul Bratter have just got back from their honeymoon at the Plaza Hotel. Now, the pair struggle to adapt to the challenge of what should be wedded bliss in their tiny New York walk-up apartment. Corrie is carefree, impulsive with wonderful spunk; Paul is a bit conservative, stodgy and grounded in reality and maturity. Just how these two will fare is anyone’s guess. Add a doting mother-in-law and a zesty neighbor who lives in the attic to make for a delightful drama!

Starring Megan Pourciau, Michael Eddy, Sandra Landry, Randy Aultman, Dennis Hinds, Troy Jackson, Ronnie Pogue, & Russell Krogsgard.

Director Anne Pourciau has acted and directed at Playmakers for over 25 years. She directed “Barefoot in the Park” in 1988 and was last seen on our stage in “Mornings At Seven.” She has also acted in numerous shows and at The Northstar, where she played her most memorable role as “Auntie Mame.” Anne teaches Talented Theater at Mandeville High School.

Megan Pourciau will play the free-spirited Corrie Bratter. She has performed at Playmakers since she was five and was last seen on our stage as Izzy in “Crossing Delancey.” Megan has her Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College in New York and currently teaches English at Southeastern Louisiana University and Delgado. Michael Eddy, a visual arts major at SLU, will be making his stage debut as Paul Bratter, Corrie’s no-nonsense husband. Northshore favorite Randy Aultman will play the outgoing neighbor Victor Velasco. Randy has directed and acted at Playmakers for over 20 years and has also appeared on stage at The Northstar. Sandra Landry will play Corrie’s conservative mother Ethel Banks. Sandra was last seen at Playmakers as Mama Rose in “Gypsy” and has acted in numerous shows at The Northstar and Skyfire as well. Dennis Hinds, a veteran actor and award-winning director at Playmakers and The Northstar, will take on the role of the telephone repairman. Playmakers long-time veterans Ronnie Pogue, Russell Krogsgard and Troy Jackson will share the role of the delivery man.
