South Pacific directed by Gary Rucker opens on Friday May 12th 2006 at Kenner Rivertown

The Tony Award winning musical South Pacific directed by Gary Rucker opens on Friday May 12th and runs through May 28th with performances on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p. m. and on Sundays at 2:30 p. m.. A pre-performance buffet catered by Messina’s is also available.

This Rodgers and Hammerstein musical is set in an island paradise during World War II and involves two parallel love stories that are threatened by the dangers of prejudice and war. Some of the highlighted songs include: Some Enchanted Evening, There is Nothin‘ Like a Dame, Bali Ha‘I, Younger Than Springtime, I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Out-a My, Hair and You‘ve Got to be Carefully Taught.

Lori DeWitt is the musical director, Kelly Fouchi is the choreographer, Linda Fried designs the costumes, Chad Talkington designs the set with Daniel Zimmer designing additionally and also designs the lights, Michelle Levine is the scenic artist and Laura Jean Hoffpauir is the production stage manager. Charles Ward produces.

Ticket prices are $25 for adults, $22 for seniors (55 and up) and students and $12 for children (6-12). An optional pre-performance buffet served by Messina‘s is also available at $18 (reservations required). Call for group rates.

The theatre is located at 325 Minor Street in Kenner’s Rivertown district. Call Tuesday through Friday 10 a. m. to 4 p. m. for tickets and reservations.
